Moving
On

This weekend,
I had one friend break my heart
and another one mend it.
I found a piece of my past,
and threw some of it away.
Trash
memories
boxes
time
all wrapped up
in this
tiny
frame
of mine
Five flight of stairs
down one spiral hall
I said goodbye to
a past
that held no more

and it felt really good.

i am about to take on a similar adventure, my friend... start packing (and tossing) after the 15th..... will be posting the steps to my blog later on that... tho i will be leaving friends behind, i will be finally moving in with my love, my family, my new directions in life.... change is good, lest we stagnate...
wonderful post.... wondrous poetry

i really like how you allowed us to follow you through this moment with your words. did you take that final look, did you turn around right before you walked away?

i'm glad it felt good :)

Stella... Thank you so much for your constant support. It seems silly for me to care so much, espacially about the "budding" romance. The budding has seemed to last months, probably four, because I can't get comfortable and it is so complicated, or feels so complicated. (laughs) I felt you would understand.

This is wonderful - giving up the past you 20-something cynic it's about time to really clean it out and look forward to everything.

Thank you,
Jane

Wise woman, Stella! Pruning the plant sounds rough, but it's actually better than not. And
making a poem of the leftovers - nice touch!

the details of the moment...they're photographic.

stella bella you're here!

I am amazed how infrequently you are able to post, is that a commitment-phobe quality?

I, on the other hand, am a total addict. I have to have too much of everything, including blogging.

tanks for sharing your poem w/ us, I liked it, esp. this part:

Trash
memories
boxes
time
all wrapped up
in this
tiny
frame
of mine
Five flight of stairs
down one spiral hall

the rhythym, the rhyme, and imagining your cute tiny self. :D

One of the principles of life. One door closes and another one opens (sometimes taking its' own sweet time!!)

Hey Stella, I thoroughly enjoyed this post. It’s visual and compelling, and ends in such fulfillment. You sound like you are truly in a good place with your life, and I think that’s great!

Finding those stairs again one day and ascending them. That's an experience!

I like the symmetry of your opening and smile big to that second friend.

A strong capture of the moments. I like the optimism at the end.

Amazing!!! To chose not to have baggage going ahead in life is a great thing. You have truly crossed the threshold of misery and evolved into happiness...

amazing

Good Riddance, past demons! Congrats on your exorcism - even though they are painful. There eventually comes a time when there's nothing left. It is a sad moment, but one that you can nonetheless pin down with your finger at a later date as your sipping red wine with a "New and Improved" friend ;-)

Eyes. Wide. Forward.

(ok, I'm the biggest hypocrite in the world - like I can EVER let anything go! .. shhhhhh!)

cheers stella!
