Night Scrying
Clouds dance against the backdrop of a midnight sky, I silently watch moving images pass before me. First of a broken-heart with an arrow through it, followed by a hand reaching towards it. Then a house.
Symbols written across the skies tells stories of a time. My story? Or another? Leaves me with too much to read, especially in this tale, where I am only part-one of two.
Back inside, what is this treasure box I discover while unpacking. I open the contents to reveal a piece of my history.
[scribbled note]
Nov. 2000:
'No matter how much heartbreak or tears you shed, both agreed to do this time ago; a pact that was made will be upheld...know, he has always loved you... '
That was written before we met. Five years later it reaches my hand again.
'I'll never be the same after we part... '
(Never say never).
But, this time it feels like forever.

Wow. Just, wow. I wanted to read more. Great stuff. :)
I'm adding you to my blog roll, so that I never forget to check Sixty Seconds out again. :)
wow! what a beautiful note and what a wonderful coincidence to come across it again, like some kind of a sign.
its amazing!
I always loved your posting.

After a year of reading, well, you're growing up.
great imagery in the sky.
and nostalgia is so powerful. a note before you met! another hopeless romantic? :)
sometimes you wish forever will go on and on if you are with the one you hoped you'd be with but if you're not, you wish it would hurry up and come and go so a new forever can start(am i making sense?)
anyhow, beautiful post. i love this moment. you express it so well.
I admire your ability to turn your everyday into poetics. Its what I find myself doing most of the time, using my own experiences and thoughts as the framework, but then creating a language to make it rise above me.
This is a sweet little example of that. And I, for one, don't believe you'll ever be the same, at any time, regardless of what happens.
the sweet ache of looking back and knowing that you're not the same. you never will be less. you'll just be better and better. it shows already, you know.
'where i am part one of two' thats a great line. and i'll bet you're the better part.
Nice night sky imagery -
Powerful.
This one touched me.I really love visiting your site. You have a way with words.
This is hospitality for a traveller like me. It is a writing I can take refuge in from the weather of the ether.
For me it is all one. The italics, as salient as the standard characters. I enjoyed this, Stella.
"But, this time it feels like forever"
it is so familiar to me
Beautiful.
It is the hope that makes it work and go on.
I need to rummage through my old notes now.
:-)
PS - Have linked you.
The other day 20 small white postcards fell out of a box in my garage I was moving. They were all letters to me when I was 12 in the hospital from my mother, my grandmother and my aunt. Great stuff.
Never and Forever are banned in The Lounge.
Take comfort in that. And come sit in my nice sofas while i behave like the perfect host
All is mutability.
S.x
I have a Pandora's box of letters from a few friends who are no longer of this earth. I want to go back and read them, but haven't felt the necessary courage and strength to open it up.
Now maybe I will.
I have linked you to my site by the way.
Reminds me of what one professor told me regarding the definition of the word "Philosophy": the art of wondering. Your writing adds beauty to the wondering part. Nice post!
I think a new age is coming for you too darling... Embrace it if possible.
Thanks for the link too!
profound.
i can always see what you write, the letter, the hand holding it...
HighMaitenance: I've added you too! You inspire me all the time to pack up and go. Don't want to lose touch with that... :)
Gulnaz: It did feel coincidental. Strangely, it was the closure I needed to find, when I wasn't looking for it! Something.
Kurt M: After a year, you've transformed and evloved beautifully right before my eyes :D I love it!
Lorena: I am such a hopeless romantic...busted. :D A new forever is in the works, for both of us!
Jax: You do have a way of rising above the mundane to create something meaningful past the ordinary. Great observation on small nuances! You have a special knack of noticing these things.
Transcience: You summed it up in a few short, yet very beautiful words... Yes, that's is exactly so-- Thanks Trans :)
Tim: Thanks :) Hope is to become better and better... always.
Paul: You'd understand. The quiet contemplation of reflection. Thanks. ;)
Cy: Thanks. One word says more than enough sometimes!
Freedom of Thought: It means alot that this touches you in some way. Reminds me that we are not alone in what we're going through. Hang in there!
Timeintotime: I feel the very same about your writing. I always stop and think about things after your posts!
Brood Mode: Hi! Welcome along. You too? We can share stories with one another. Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment.
.:A:. Oh, rummage away dear! I'm sure you'll find something lovely and inspiring. You seem to have that magical touch about you.
Pirate: Well that seems like a sign alright! I hoped you enjoyed reading the letters and going back in time! :)
Saturnyne: What have you been up to, besides lounging and dancing over there? Sofas are nice.
Finnegan: Yes, Pandora's Box is a tricky matter within itself. I think you are already courageous and wise and when it's time to open the box, you'll know! Best Wishes!!
Michael Manning: Hi! Thanks for stopping here. It's good to wonder, I agree... sometimes, I can spend many hours wondering. :)
Jane: Agreed. To a new age. For both of us! Looking forward to it. Happy Birthday again!
.:a:. we're now officially linked :)
Rhein: Thanks. That's such a nice compliment, especially coming from a photographer with a great eye for the camera. :D
Stella, You have a great eye to see that it is painting of fiction and not reality. Do you suppose the models in Rockwell's works really smiled as they lived their miserable little lives?
LOL!! So, Jr. didn't catch you afterall??
stella - little secret. i'm not much of a photographer. i'm more of writer at heart:). it's just easier to take pictures than to write.
I really loved this piece.
It just seems to... float.
It's one of my favorites.
