David Bowie kidnapped me.

(And I'm so full of sh**).

Coming soon:
The return of Stella.
I promise.

While listening to Ella Fitzgerald at work one day, I wrote a poem, trying to find my inner diva again and found I lost that sultry lady behind spectacles, spreadsheets, cells, columns and number crunching. Suddenly, it dawned on me that without realizing it, I've turned into Debbie from Accounting.

She Tries

After awhile
these signs
don't mean
a thing,
The phone
just stop'd
to ring.
I know
you know
we
matter
no mo
& time...
she aint my friend,
she's all I got
till the end.
I can't miss
you these days,
'cuz honey
its been too long
since we've parted ways.

This is me and my inner ella.

I'm sure your inner Diva is still there Stella. And if I were you, I'd be brimming with pride. Because not only can you Divaize (new word, meaning to Diva something) a blog like nobody's business, but you’re a master at Excel spreadsheets as well. Pure talent lady!

Nice to see you posting again! :)

Hm, David Bowie now, DB as Ziggy or DB in that strange 80's dancing in the streets way? Because, it matters. ;)
Lovely poem. There's a strength to it, almost a closure, so to speak.

I loved Cy's comment.

Truthfully Stella, if you're Debbie from Accounting, then Accounts have got it good! Accounts are where it's at! And I'm readying my application!

I heard David Bowie is going on kidnapping sprees, actually. It's getting really bad at the moment, too. According to a press conference with David, he said that Michael Jackson was his inspiration.

(...And I am just as full of shit as you...)

The poem is effortlessly lucid. And I like the bit about I can't miss you these days. It sure did make me smile. Wonderful! :-)

Cheers

Dan

Seeing that my cookies are disabled or some error message I keep getting, I can't creat a new post even though I want to. Damn. Bad blogging karma, I suppose.

It snowed today in New York. My first snowfall in Brooklyn. I'm in love. With the sidewalks and the trees and the wintery scenes. Some people hate winters, and I can understand why. But there's something about being cold, that makes me feel warm. I wish I could share that with you.

shyloh said...

Hello stella, I have seen you at a lot of places and just wanted to stop in and say hello. It is a lovely poem.

Being from Chicage we have the four seasons but the winters are way to long for me. I love the first heavy snow, then no more.

Hi Stella, I just wanted to say thanks for your response on my latest piece. It is comforting to know that someone thinks that way.

Your offer to provide stamps made me laugh out loud. Next time I am New York, you'll have to take me on a date to the local post office. : )

Bye!

till the end.

Priceless in a sighing kind of way. Hmmm... your "inner Ella" St-Ella. I see now. ;-p Miss you and I *HEART* accountants, Debbie!

that david bowie is one bastard. isn't it about time he let you go so you can update your blog site.

i have every record that mister jones has ever made and (sad to admit it) have been a fan of his since the mid sixties.

before him every one sounded american (no offense) including the beatles and the stones, and then suddenly he appeared and sounded like ME!)

You said you experienced first snow? World went crazy! I live in much colder place than you and this year... no snow at all!

By the way, I experienced NYC in winter only. One of the best winters ever had. My first photo taken by the christmas tree...
Years go by.
